“Be regular and orderly in your life, so that you may be violent and original in your work.” − Gustave Flaubert

My dad has this huge record collection so from a young age, I was always surrounded by all kinds of music: Kiss, Iron Maiden, David Bowie, Abba, Elvis, Nirvana, The Cure, Rush, Steve Vai, Depeche Mode and many more.

My name is Ace van de Ven and here is a brief history of my life so far.

When I turned ten I got a guitar for my birthday because I wanted to learn an instrument after hearing Rammstein. At the age of eleven I started taking guitar lessons and around thirteen I started performing with local bands around town.

After my high school graduation I auditioned at AMP, Rotterdam. I got in and I became a well-rounded musician and producer. I learned a lot about music production and recording. I also started to learn to play the piano and drums.

I’m currently working on various projects and studying Composition for the Media at the University of the Arts Utrecht.

I do a lot of soul searching while studying and creating music. Trying to grasp and understand why and how I like certain things in music on an emotion level. It may seem like an easy question but I haven’t found a clear answer yet.

One thing I know for sure is that I love to be challenged and experiment with music and therefore I can write really anything you ask me to because I believe music has no boundaries.

Music, to me, is the highest form of freedom I know.
